PieterPost Postbox Hunt
Read the game rules for claims, photo use, safety, moderation, and fair play before you send in a find.
Short version: play safely, upload only your own claim photo, and keep the game fair for everyone.
Only claim postboxes that are on public ground and safely reachable.
Do not step onto the road, climb fences, or force a photo in an unsafe place just to complete a claim.
A claim only counts when you are close enough to the postbox and upload a photo taken for that claim.
Upload only your own photo. Old photos, borrowed photos, or fake location tricks are not allowed.
Photograph the front of the postbox and stand close enough to keep it centered in the frame.
Do not upload claim photos with recognizable people in the picture.
Your photo stays private while it is awaiting review. If PieterPost approves it, the photo may become public and may be used under the photo licence below.
PieterPost may review your upload, reject suspicious claims, or remove claim photos from the public gallery at any time.
You retain the copyright in your claim photo.
By uploading a claim photo, you grant PieterPost a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, resize, crop, adapt, publish, distribute, display, exhibit, and otherwise use the photo in connection with PieterPost and Postbox Hunt, in any media. This includes websites, apps, social media, newsletters, printed materials, advertising, press, presentations, campaigns, physical and digital exhibitions, and museums.
PieterPost may allow its service providers, media and production partners, and exhibition venues to use the photo only for these purposes.
The photo may be shown together with your player name and claim information, such as the postbox, address or city, and claim date.
You can contact pieter@pieterpost.com to request that PieterPost stop future use and remove the photo from channels it controls. We cannot always retrieve printed materials, completed exhibitions, archived publications, or copies already distributed by third parties.
Regular postboxes are worth 1 hunt score. The Eemshaven postbox at the edge of the country is worth 5 and unlocks the End of the world badge. The Parallelweg 2 postbox in Baarle-Nassau is worth 5 and unlocks the Border chaos village badge. Medical and lowered-slot postboxes are specials worth more. Double specials are worth 9 total.
The leaderboard sorts by hunt score first. Number of found postboxes remains visible as a secondary stat.
PieterPost may flag, review, revoke, or hide claims when there are signs of spam, fake location, unsafe behavior, or other abuse.
Repeated abuse can lead to removal from the leaderboard or loss of access to Brievenbusjacht features.
We only use your location to show nearby postboxes and to verify whether you are close enough to a claim.
If you do not agree with these terms, do not upload a claim photo.
